The Stickley Story begins at the turn of the 20th century with Gustav Stickley (1858 – 1942), who inspired the American Arts and Crafts movement with his Mission oak designs. Gustav was joined by brothers, Charles and Albert, John George, as well as Leopold. Architect and designer Harvey Ellis also played an important part in the refinement of the Mission Oak designs. In the second half of the 20th century, the story continued under the leadership of Edward J. Amini. Aminy Audi carries on the legacy of her husband as President and CEO of L. & J.G. Stickley and is aided by their son Alfred. The Stickley motto - Als Ik Kan, which best translates from the Flemish as, - to the best of my ability. |
