This traditional oriental carpet is from a rug woven during the reign of Mughal emperor Jahangir (r.1605-27), a patron of art, science and architecture. His tomb is placed near Shalimar Gardens in Lahore in Pakistan's Punjab Province. The rug is hand-knotted on looms located in Jaipur, India. Shalimar is woven in three colors - eucalyptus, light green, and floral red.
