Over 100 years ago Gustav Stickley introduced a new look in furniture based on the simple ideas of honest carftsmanship and natural materials. Stickley revived the American Arts & Crafts Movement and his designs became known as Mission Furniture. In Scotland and England, designer, architect, and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh introduced similar "modernist" ideas, emphasizing relaxed looks, adding soft curves and motifs to enhance the living space.
